Here at Alliance Française d'Austin, we've always loved books. We think that it's another wonderful opportunity for our students to learn French. So if you're a reading enthusiast, please join us for our Club de Lecture!
When?
We'll meet online the third Saturday of every month (= two meetings per session). The discussion will be led in English though every participant is welcome to read the French version of the book.
First meeting: Saturday January 21 from 6PM to 7PM. We will be talking about the first part of the book. Discussion will be continued on February 18th. Please sign up for that session as well if you want to participate!
What book will we read?
A Man's Place by French author Annie Ernaux
Winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in litterature, this book recounts the story of a daughter coming to terms with her formative years as she writes an unflinching portrait of her father's life and death.
Where to get the book?
The French Version, English Version can be found in both Hardcover, Paperback, and Audiobook can be found on Amazon.
AFA members and non-members are welcome to join the Club de Lecture. This is a free event for AFA members. There is a $15 participation fee asked per discussion for non-members. This event is open to all levels. Please register to receive the ZOOMLINK for the meeting. Please read in French or English but note the discussion will be in English
