The Alliance Française d'Austin is a non-profit organization whose mission is:

- to encourage and develop knowledge of the French language and French and Francophone cultures,

- to foster cultural, intellectual, and artistic exchanges between the USA, France, and French-speaking countries.

Our group is a member of a worldwide organization headed by the Alliance Française de Paris, founded in 1883, which currently numbers over 1,135 chapters in 138 countries, and recognized by the Fondation Alliance Française

Also lending encouragement and support to the 130 chapters in the United States and Puerto Rico is the Federation of Alliance Françaises USA.
